Kalamitsi Beach Sithonia Kalamitsi, Sithonia

Kalamitsi Beach Sithonia

Located at the southern tip of the Sithonia peninsula, roughly halfway between Toroni and Sarti, lies Kalamitsi Beach, the twin sister of Thalatta Beach. Thalatta Beach is situated to the right of Kalamitsi Beach, while to the left is the nudist beach of Kalamitsi.

Thalatta Beach is the largest of these three beaches. It boasts beautiful golden sand, turquoise waters, pine trees, and, of course, sports facilities. However, accessing it may be somewhat challenging if you are not staying at the campground of the same name, due to limited parking and the access road (if not going through the camp).

Key positive features of Kalamitsi Beach

  1. Golden sand
  2. Turquoise waters
  3. Plenty of cafes
  4. Good number of visitors
  5. Excellent recommendation for families with children

Kalamitsi Beach is slightly smaller than Thalatta Beach. Golden sand, turquoise waters and numerous cafes are the main characteristics of this beach. Many visitors consider this beach, along with Karydi Beach, an excellent destination for families with children.

The main issue with Kalamitsi Beach is parking

Access to Kalamitsi Beach is relatively easy, but there has been a shortage of parking spaces lately. This is especially noticeable after the construction of a seaside promenade with designated parking spaces. This significantly reduces the possibility of parking directly on the beach, but at least (for now) parking is free.

The main attraction of Kalamitsi Beach is a small island

After parking, you simply need to decide where to set up your sun umbrella or which cafe to choose. Typically, parents with children head to the nearby cafe on the far right, or right next to it. Also, here is a small island about 30 meters from the shore, which probably looks like a water park to parents, hence why they choose that spot.

Couples usually prefer the left side of the beach, while in the middle, there are facilities for renting various water sports equipment, such as kayaks and pedal boats. As soon as you enter the water, you will realize that it is not very shallow here. For this reason, you won't be able to walk around much in the shallows, and of course, this requires extra attention for the children.

The third, and smallest, beach is a nudist, without a developed access road. Here, there is not much to think. To reach this beach, you either go over the sea or walk over the hill.
