Petani Beach Cephalonia
Petani Beach is more an ‘’Instagram beach’’ than a ‘’Facebook’’. It could be said that it is the "younger sister" of Myrtos Beach, meaning it enjoys a similar level of popularity as its "older sister". The good pedigree this beach has is most felt in the chronic lack of parking, but luckily not in large crowds on the shore, as Petani is a very spacious beach.
As you drive down the winding road towards Petani Beach, your companions will enjoy the magnificent view and will surely beg you to stop every 15 meters to take photos. The sight is truly beautiful, but the advice (for drivers) is not to try to enjoy the view, but to firmly hold the steering wheel and head straight to the place where you can park.
When to arrive and where to park at Petani Beach
When you arrive at the beach, wherever you see a free spot, just park your car. Because if you don't plan to come to this beach early in the morning (before 10 am) or towards the end of the day (after 5 pm), expect to park on the main road (a few hundred meters above the beach), while the other option is parking which you need to pay.
The beach itself consists of two parts. The smaller part is on the right side (without any facilities) and the larger or main part is on the left side. Most people, of course, go on this larger part where the pebbles are a bit finer and where you can rent sun umbrellas and sun loungers and indulge in enjoying your favourite drink and book.
Petani Beach is phenomenal, and sometimes the color of sea even gets that ‘’Myrtos turquoise’’ hue. The only concern here can be parking, so if you plan to stay longer at this beach and don't want to lug your stuff for a kilometer or pay for expensive parking, come early to Petani Beach and you'll manage to find free parking in a somewhat favorable location.
