Agios Ioannis Beach Sithonia
Agios Ioannis is a beautiful sandy beach with a gradual entry into the water, ideal for both older people and young children. It is located near the summer resorts of Nikiti, Lagomandra, and Neos Marmaras. Until recently, there was a café-bar on this beach with great music and a variety of drinks, as well as sun loungers and sun umbrellas. Parking was plentiful, the water was turquoise, and everything was idyllic.
However, as is often the case, this natural beauty caught the attention of the owners of a hotel. Thus, a hotel complex was built on this spot, occupying the entire left side of the beach, while the rest of the beach is now empty, meaning it no longer has a café, nor are there any toilets, showers, or changing cabins.
If you're driving on the main road towards Neos Marmaras, Agios Ioannis beach will definitely catch your eye, primarily because of the color of the sea, which looks like someone has overused Photoshop. And, indeed, this beach looks unreal. Along this main road, there is also a small lookout point from which you can get an even better view of this natural wonder.
